She's gone, huh? Then good riddance.

[With that twinge of bitterness out of the way, he returns to the matter at hand.]

[Mavis hears the mix of bitterness and disappointment in Qubine's voice but does not comment on it. The 'relationship' between Qubine and Winter has always been complicated and Mavis never tried to meddle.]

What can you tell me about Frostbolt? Was there anyone else searching for the Royal Family?

Frostbold has been taken care of. He's not a threat right now.

I don't think he targeted the royal family per se. He was aiming for power and wanted to take over the palace. [And he wasn't stupid enough to attack Mavis on her own territory or to attack Fairy Haven.]

I believe the royal family is safe but they've been greatly shocked by what happened. [Especially being 'betrayed' by the captain of their guard.] But since the royal guard has no captain anymore, they probably prefer not to expose themselves for now.

If that's the case, don't try and force their hands. What matters is to make sure they're okay and keep in touch with them.

[Well, that changes just about everything. Qubine could almost facepalm at the whole thing. Although it would explain how the royal family could still be alive after being "missing" for so many months.]

For the Eleven's sake...they could have at least contacted you, so that the rest of us would know that they're safe. All this time, I was led to believe that they were in danger, or worse.

Winter was supposed to be our contact with them. [The key there being 'supposed to be', but her updates were rare.] And, after what she went through, the fact that she wanted to handle this was a positive sign and I didn't want to make her feel like I was disavowing her.

Now her departure changes the whole thing. And I agree we need to have a factual and complete status regarding the Royal Family. They're free to want to remain hidden but we [And by that she means the Guardian and the Deputies.] should know where they are and how to contact them.

This is why I entrust you with this.

Also, you might have noticed Alice left as well. So it leaves only you, Erza and Konoka as my deputies. Alice lefts notes for me regarding how to use her dolls but I need to figure out a new energy source before it can be fully operational.

That said if you need support, reach out for me, Erza or Konoka immediately. You understand? [Losing Winter and Alice back to backc is bad enough.

He had wondered how hard she was really trying, but with this new revelation, there was no time limit to finding the Royal Family. It's an odd feeling.] I will find them.

[He tilts his head at the other news. Alice's departure is something he hasn't heard of either.] What sort of energy source did the dolls use before?

[At least the dolls weren't lost.]
